Job Summary:
As a Food Service Account Manager, you will be at the forefront of acquiring new food service accounts and maintaining accounts that are already established with our valued customers. Your previous experience in food service sales, restaurant management, or the fresh produce industry will help you to be successful in this role.
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Communicate effectively and build rapport with food service customers in our service area.
- Warm-call potential customers to understand their business needs regarding fresh produce items. Be able to overcome objections and rejections in the sales process.
- Maintain positive working relationships with the sales team, buyers, support staff and warehouse operations to ensure that the needs of our customers are met.
- Travel and make occasional deliveries to our customers as needed. Some overnight trips may be required.
- Assist and solve delivery challenges for customers and our operations.
- Be a self-starter and be able to work independently without direct supervision.
Qualifications:
- Preferred 3+ years of previous sales experience to food service customers.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of fresh produce commodities, markets and supply chain dynamics.
- Candidate must be able to demonstrate a high attention to detail.
- Strong negotiating skills are necessary for this position.
- Must have excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain inter-department relationships.
- Must be resilient and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
