Summary:
Manage and coordinate all outbound logistic activities including, but not limited to: driver management, route planning and dispatch, fleet maintenance, 3PL procurement, record keeping in accordance with DOT regulations, and ELD management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule, plan, and dispatch deliveries so they arrive at customer locations at designated times.
- Manage company driver performance; including hiring and firing.
- Inspect trucks and trailers for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.
- Procure and coordinate third party carriers, as necessary, for on time pickup and delivery.
- Maintain record keeping in accordance with company and DOT standards (ELD, DVIR, Comdata, etc)
- Study and standardize procedure to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
- Assist other locations or departments as needed.
- Maintain fleet to meet all DOT requirements.
- Ensure that all regulations are followed and enforced as outlined in our food safety program (H.A.C.C.P.) for transportation department.
- Dispatch drivers as needed to ensure accurate customer delivery times
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsible for the direct supervision and evaluation of company Truck Drivers and Transportation Supervisor.

- High school education or equivalent or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- CDL Class A with clean driving record preferred but not required
- Three to five years of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and long hours as needed.
- Ability to operate a computer using standard office software.
