Job Description: 
M. Levin and Company, Inc. is a full-line wholesale produce distribution company based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1906, we are family owned and operated and have been since inception. The Company is currently being managed by its third and fourth generation of family members. We are best known as one of the largest banana ripeners and distributors on the East Coast. We are also well-known for our extensive line of tropical items, carrying one of the largest selections in the tri-state area. Aside from bananas and tropical items, M. Levin carries a full line of fresh fruits and vegetables that boast the variety and quality that M. Levin has built its foundation upon. M. Levin operates six units inside the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market. We are seeking an individual with sales experience (retail, foodservice, and wholesale) to join our team. A background in produce is preferred.
Within our 116-year-old company we have many produce professionals who have over 100s of years of combined experience in the produce world. M. Levin is a well-respected company within the industry and is looking to grow and expand our sales team.
While we are family-owned and operated we believe that all of our employees are an extension of our family, and we take pride in having our employees with us for multiple decades. The individual we have in mind for this position would be someone who has the ability to personally engage with our current customer base, as well as have the skill set necessary to help bring in new customers. An individual who is multi-lingual (Spanish and/ Korean) is also a plus.
The ideal candidate for this position would be a sales-orientated and personable individual, who is able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. This position is for on-site sales within the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market. This position also requires early hours with a 3 AM start time.
For one to be successful in this role, one must:
  • Have experience working in sales (sales experience in the produce world is a bonus!)
  • Be a positive, self-motivated individual, eager to get involved and learns quickly
  • Being multi-lingual would add value
  • Have the ability to solicit and develop new and long-lasting relationships with customers, growers, brokers and general trade
  • Being detail-oriented is a huge plus
  • Willingness to be a team player and work with other sales members
  • Must be able to work early hours (3 AM start time)
  • Existing book of business within the Produce industry is highly desired
