Responsible for all aspects of quality in the organization. Manages the QC lab at the plant and oversees QC programs internationally.
• Responsible for maintaining the integrity of Quality Assurance / Quality Control as described in the Quality Control Manual.
• Manages the daily activities of the quality control, residue lab, and residue program+.
• Establish and improve raw material specifications for purchasing and quality assurance purposes.
• Develop, improve and correct QC specifications.
• Respond, investigate and follow up customer complaints / CARE Program.
• Develop new and improve analytical methods for quality assurance and raw material evaluations.
• Manage analytical program including hiring seasonal employees.
• Maintain information support for other departments.
• Customers Relations pertaining to the product quality and technical information.
• Perform departmental employee performance appraisals.
• Act as contact and liaison to outside laboratories and agencies.
• Acts as an Analytical / QC Chemist when needed
• Manage the ISO 17025 program
• Propose adjustments for out of specifications products
• Oversees and approves the raw material / manufacture qualification program
• Assist with the SQF program
• Work as a team with engineers / chemist / biologists
• Other duties may be assigned.
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION GUIDELINES:
• Minimum B.S. Chemistry. Advanced degree desirable
• Minimum 6 years laboratory experience, include 3 years in QC/QA laboratory.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory position.
• Skills in computer use, spread-sheet and word processing required.
• Degree or training in Quality desirable.
• Training in instrument troubleshooting desirable
• WA State Dealer/Manager Pesticide License desirable.
• Ability to perform desk /computer work for extended period of time.
• Ability to stand for extended period of time in a laboratory setting.
• Ability to perform physical inspection in the plant.
