Job Description: 
Established in 2002, our company is a successful marketing and distribution entity with exclusive marketing relationships with selected produce growers. Pacific Produce LLC has offices in California, Florida, and main headquarters in Maryland/DC. We are focused on 4 major commodities year around and seasonal:  asparagus, avocados, grapes, and blueberries. We continue to grow with a high demand and familiar customer base across the country.
 
We currently have a full-time opening for an Accounting Assistant to join our Miami, FL office. This position would assist and work primarily with the Accounting Manager in Maryland but also work with our other departments.  (Location; Doral. Miami)
 
We are looking for an experienced, confident, self-driven, detail-oriented, organized, proactive and energetic individual who is excited to grow along with our company. We are looking for someone we can trust and will take initiative and help us continue our growth. The desired individual will have a great opportunity to become a key team member who contributes to our operation and administrative team.
Duties and Responsibilities.
  • Supporting Accounting Manager daily tasks in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Supporting Accounting Manager research and resolve customer disputes and vendor claims
  • Communicate daily with variety of department managers to collect and confirm final data for software entries and Accounting Manager support
  • Provide support for other department managers when requested (Sales, Logistics, and Procurement)
  • Review and analyze software reports including standard accounting financials
  • Familiar with settlement closing and understand consignment.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Proven experience
  • Awareness of business trends
  • Knowledge of Spanish is helpful but not required
Ideally, the person we hire will have great communications skills since he/she will be the main contact from our operations team to our main accounting office. This person will need to be focused, organized, problem solver, great communicator and to have interest in learning processes so he/she can contribute to the company.  Flexible to changes in flow of normal operation due to high demand or unexpected changes.
