SUMMARY: Responsible for sales growth, service level, inventory management and earned income for assigned categories.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Evaluate, purchase, manage and control stock & non stock inventory.
- Ensure accurate pricing for all inbound shipment including confirmation of pricing, verifying discrepancies and pre-pricing all non stock ordered items.
- Enter market costs where appropriate.
- New Supplier Set Up and insurance renewals.
- Service level maximization.
- Out of Stock recovery.
- Identify and reduce shrink exposure.
- Maximization of cases per pallet.
- Product Cost Variance management.
- Balance receiving schedule.
- Manage PO confirmation and receiving to maximize margin on program account business.
- Creation of new item numbers as required.
- Enter item substitutions for out of stock or supplier conversions.
Sales Support
- Responsible for providing MA's with timely information on product inquiries - stock and special order.
- Responsible for category training for MA’s at sales meetings and techs.
- Responsible for new MA training - develop on going training programs.
- Work with manufactures to maximize exposure at local events- set expectations, give direction and review presentations.
- Decide what products to bring to market (work with supplier analyst) and how to promote to maximize sales growth.
- Analyze inventory for voids and duplication. Put plans in place to consolidate items.
- Hot sheet management (work with administrative assistant and marketing).
- Food show support.
- Monitor and enter enhance descriptions, item companions and substitutions for categories under their area of responsibility.
- Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (3 to 5 years produce experience ideal).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with variety of people in fast paced environment.
- Great attitude and desire for personal improvement and attainment of company goals.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
REASONING SKILLS:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Intermediate knowledge of Word Processing and spreadsheet software, including Excel Good Keyboarding skills.
