Job Description: 

Skagit Valley Farm is one of the largest vegetable producers in Washington state. We continue to achieve by hiring the best people, using and building technology, and developing new processes.

We have an opening for an HR Generalist to join our team in Burlington, WA. As the HR Generalist you will report to the CFO and have strategic goals in the development and execution of efficient, compliant, employee oriented Human Resources programs and services to support the growth of Skagit Valley Farm and its affiliate companies.

This position is responsible for managing all human resources programs associated with the Company including but not limited to, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, compensation, benefits, employment relations and training.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with managers to understand HR pain points and opportunities. Develop relevant and sustainable solutions that support organizational strategy, drive performance, and enhance culture.
  • Development and implementation of HR programs related to legal and procedural compliance, employee relations, workforce planning, talent and performance management, data quality, compensation, recruitment & selection, employee engagement and organizational development.
  • Development and implementation of company policies and procedures. Ensure that all relevant policies, procedures, practices, processes, and systems meet company standards, comply with applicable legislation, and are consistent with industry norms.
  • Provide education and counsel to managers and employees to ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Ensure that adequate and effective training and development opportunities are provided that meet the business needs
  • Effectively manage employee relations issues.
  • Start to finish execution of the hiring process, in compliance with all applicable internal policies, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with payroll for the onboarding of new employees, including benefits enrollment and explanation of company policies.
  • Conduct annual benefits open enrollment.
  • Create, implement and oversee the annual performance review process
  • Manage and execute the Executive Level compensation program
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned or requested

Education and Experience

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • Minimum of 4 years HR experience
  • Exposure to the agriculture/manufacturing industry preferred
  • Strong knowledge of state employment law, federal law and regulations and HR best practices
  • HR Certification and/or Associates Degree preferred
  • Strong MS Office skills required
  • HRIS experience preferred
