JOB FILLED - Director of Sales

Job Description: 
This position is responsible for creating and executing an annual budget including Sales, Gross Profit, Compensation, and other sales related expenses. This a Leadership Team position and requires Management proficiency using EOS business principles including inspiration, communication, efficiency, adaptability, relationship building and demonstration of Daylight Foods Core Values.
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Help build our network of customers by generating leads and speaking with potential new customers about our offerings.
  • Develop extensive knowledge of all company products and services to communicate effectively with current and new customers
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain an effective system to ensure timely and accurate handling of New, Lost, and Target customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective business and sales plans, including managing and assigning territories, developing revenue goals, and creating team structure.
  • Understanding Customer Needs – Uses customer knowledge to determine customer needs; Understands customer's strategic priorities, organization, processes, systems, and business operations. Execute regular customer business reviews achieving customer alignment.
  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic sales objectives for assigned territory.
  • Administratively responsible for managing customer service departmental goals.
  • Partner with Sales Reps, Customer Service Reps, and Customers to conduct periodic reviews of results and, where needed, implement enhancements or corrective actions.

Key Results Area #1 – Negotiate, prepare, execute, and achieve a yearly sales plan and budget.
To be successful, the following results are required:
  • Achieve or exceed budgeted Sales, Gross Profit, Payroll, and all other Sales expenses.
  • Lead, Manage and hold people Accountable including monthly / quarterly plan reviews with each direct report, use findings to encourage and recognize performance or performance shortfall and implement developmental or staff changes.
  • Manage profit margins and sales compensation which attracts and retains great customers and sales personnel.
  • Monitor trends and run rates, sales, margin, new customers, lost customers, and A/R.
  • Prepare and execute sales presentations to important or new customers to improve retention and maximize penetration. Prepare. execute and monitor customer agreements.
  • Assist staff to identify, qualify, pursue, and secure new significant customers that are accretive to the companies EBITDA.

To be successful, the following results are required:
  • Embrace or refine and role model Daylight Foods Selling System and enrich the sales organization with these principles.
  • Recruit and train competent and committed people to adequately staff a stable, capable, and successful sales roster.
  • Identify and enhance opportunities for internal candidates into positions of higher responsibility.
  • Increase Sales productivity and employee quality of work-life using Sales Training methods including role modeling effective Sales and Customer Service techniques.
  • Suggest new approaches, policies, and procedures to provide continuous improvement in departmental efficiencies, company profitability and customer satisfaction / dependence.
  • Maximize Daylight Foods strengths while contributing to improve upon or overcome weaknesses.
Key Results Area #3 – Operational efficiency
To be successful, the following results are required:
  • Manage soft costs such as credit card fees and routing efficiency.
  • Initiate and maintain cooperative interaction with; A/R manager to minimize DSO and bad debt; Transportation staff to maximize customer satisfaction and truck utilization; Purchasing staff to maximize buying power, customer satisfaction, inventory turns and eliminate obsolete inventory.
  • Reduce operating expenses and customer dissatisfaction caused by sales errors.
Key Results Area #4 – Daylight Foods Identity
To be successful, the following results are required:
  • Create and enhance company image and customer equity.
  • Create identity of Daylight Foods as the supplier and employer of choice in our market area.
  • Become involved in industry associations that provide Daylight Foods identity awareness opportunities.
  • Maintain professional relationships with coworkers, customers, and suppliers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES:
  • Expertise in leading broad-line and Food service sale
  • Five or more years of experience with Produce, Dairy, Protein, and Dry goods.
  • Three or more years of experience managing Sales Reps and Customer Service teams.
  • Handle pressure well
  • Be self-motivated and be very detail-oriented
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience directly involved in warehousing and transportation.

Compensation/Salary: 
$90000 - $120000.
