Job Description: 

Join our dynamic team at Caruso Produce, a leading distributor of fresh produce committed to delivering quality and value to our customers. We supply a varying range of fruits and vegetables to retailers, restaurants, and food service providers across the Pacific Northwest. This role in particular will support business growth throughout Washington State.

As a Produce Sales Representative, you will play a key role in driving sales and developing strong customer relationships within the region. You will be responsible for promoting and selling our extensive line of fresh produce to existing and prospective clients, ensuring customer satisfaction, and contributing to the overall growth and success of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve sales targets and expand customer base.
  • Prospect and qualify new customers through cold calling, networking, and industry research.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, providing exceptional customer service and addressing inquiries promptly.
  • Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms of sale to satisfy customer expectations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams such as logistics and operations to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve any issues.
  • Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities.
  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and other administrative tasks as required.

 Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in produce sales or a related field (agriculture, food distribution preferred).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, target-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of fresh produce varieties, quality standards, and seasonal availability.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using sales management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Agriculture, or a related field is advantageous.
