About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated Produce Buyer to join our team in Clackamas. In this role, you’ll be responsible for sourcing and purchasing fresh produce, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring we deliver the best product at the best value to our customers.
This is a full-time position in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where attention to detail, creative problem solving, and strong relationships matter.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of produce buying experience and considers themselves an expert in this field.
What You’ll Do
- Source, purchase, and manage inventory of fresh produce.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Negotiate pricing, quality, and supply terms.
- Forecast demand and replenish products to ensure consistent availability.
- Support the sales team with new product launches and innovation.
- Minimize shrink/spoilage through proactive management.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of produce buying or related experience.
- Strong knowledge of fresh produce seasonality and sourcing.
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); MS Dynamics GP a plus.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and a collaborative team player.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Full-time role, primarily office-based with standard office equipment.
- Frequent inspection of produce quality in cold storage and dock environments.
- Role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and comfort working in both office and warehouse settings. Works occasional long hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Some travel required.
Salary: $70,000-$85,000 DOE
