Job Description:
We are currently seeking an Assistant Greenhouse Grower in Tehachapi, CA.

Physical Requirements:
- Continuous use of both hands; including grasping, pulling and pushing.
- Walking on even and uneven surfaces, sight, hearing, standing, sitting, bending, twisting, stooping, climbing up cat walks on planters, reaching forward, reaching overhead and below the shoulder. Lifting and carrying 25 pounds.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Assist Greenhouse Grower in all aspects of organic crops in the Tehachapi area.
- Responsibilities include overseeing soil preparation, planting, irrigation, fertilization and harvesting.
- This person will help plan efficient use of labor force and maintain company’s quality and quantity standards for finished product.
- Interact with other Department Managers to facilitate coordination of work in the Bakersfield/Tehachapi area or surrounding area.
- All other duties as directed by Greenhouse Grower.
- Must be available to work most weekends.
Qualifications:
- This individual will have a minimum of 2 years of farm operation (or related industry) experience including the supervision of labor and direct involvement in the business side of the industry.
- Four year degree in a related major preferred but not required in lieu of direct experience.
- Position requires employee to live and work in the Bakersfield/Tehachapi area or immediate surrounding area.
- The successful candidate must have strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
- Must be computer literate.
- Bi-lingual, English and Spanish a plus.
- Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical, FCE and have clean driving record.
