Based in Los Alamitos, California, Frieda’s, Inc. is the nation’s leading marketer and distributors of specialty produce, supplying grocery retailers and foodservice distributors with more than 600 varieties of fruits, vegetables and gourmet items. Our company is expanding through a growing reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. We are adding new staff to our Southern California team and raising the expectations of our existing team to fit our company’s culture and mission to change the way America eats fruits and vegetables.

We are looking for an experienced Field Specialist who will work with our Sales team to increase customer satisfaction and sales each year. You’ll be working directly with Merchandising and Division Headquarter staff at a store level, assisting to implement merchandising strategies. 

Frieda’s prides itself in providing our employees a collaborative work environment. You’ll work with the team to develop and supervise retail promotions, product demonstrations and store displays. You’ll conduct store and retail competition surveys with Frieda’s and our clients that will provide thorough and valuable feedback to both parties.

You’ll be able to create meaningful business relationships with clients and provide them a superior level of service.

You’ll be a key member of our Sales team, attending trade shows and supporting our store-calling program to help substantially grow our business.

This position requires approximately 80% work done in the field. You’ll have the opportunity to work independently, freely managing your time and multiple projects, while still being a contributing member of the team at Corporate Headquarters here in Orange County.

Education & Experience:

  • We ask that you have a four-year degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited college or university and 3 – 5 years’ experience as a Store Merchandiser or Field Specialist; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience in the retail/wholesale industry, preferably in specialty produce.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and can speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization with the ability to consistently convey a positive and friendly attitude and professional image of the Company.
  • Must be proficient in all Microsoft applications including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
