Job Description:
The Fresh Harvest Production Manager oversees all aspects of the growing and harvesting departments in the Fresh Harvest program. This person will specifically focus on overseeing the planting, irrigation, fertilization, and application of pesticides to all Fresh Harvest crops. This person will help determine the planting schedule and harvesting schedule in the field while working with the field supervisor.

Responsibilities & Duties:
This person will supervise the Fresh Harvest foreman and his crew and must be hands on to stay in touch during planting, irrigation and harvesting of Fresh Harvest crops at the ground level.

Works with sales and establishes planting and harvesting schedules

Participates in planning what items to plant for coming seasons

Coordinates with nursery in seeding and growing of seedlings

Oversees ground prep, planting, growing and harvesting of Fresh Harvest product

Determines irrigation, fertilizer, and pesticide schedules

Oversees spraying of Fresh Harvest fields

Works with field supervisor in harvesting, planting, irrigation

Walks fields to determine quality and quantity of the produce and relays this info to sales

Keeps seed room organized, keeps seed inventory, orders new seed

Researches new seed varieties, growing and harvesting schedules

Coordinates equipment usage with other production managers

Researches new equipment as needed and decides on purchases

Attends seminars and classes as needed to learn about new research, stay current with emerging trends

Travels as needed to learn from other growing operations
Qualifications:

At least 3 years' experience in commercial vegetable production

Strong mathematical and analytical reasoning skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Bachelor’s Degree in an agriculture related field

Strong knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word

Ability to work and focus in a fast-paced environment

Verbal and written communication skills

Ability to interact with different personality types

Bilingual English/Spanish

Positive attitude and willing to work outside in sun and rain
