Job Description:
This person is expected to supervise and coordinate activities of workers at Bella Fresh engaged in verifying and keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments, and preparing items for shipment. To achieve this scope, he/she will have duties which include handling shipping and customer delivery activities from the company's shipping dock, directing company-employed over-the-road truck drivers and drawing on outside trucks, trailers, and transportation services as needed.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 5+ years of shipping experience with dated and perishable products.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, routes, and rates.
- Experience with multiple SKU’s per shipment preferred.
- Frozen/refrigerated product experience preferred.
- HACCP Certified.
- In case of absence of the shipping and receiving manager, supervisors will be responsible for assuming responsibility for food safety practices and enforcement of the department.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Studies shipping notices and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods.
- Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Determines space requirements and position of shipment in boxcars and trucks and lays out position of shipment.
- Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states.
- Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications, and seals loaded boxcars and truck doors.
- Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.
- Maintains vehicle maintenance report.
- Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
- Supervises the Finish Cooler
- Compiles records of unfilled orders.
- Posts weight and shipping charges.
- Prepares bills of lading.
- Assumes the responsibility of the SQF Practitioner in their absence.
