JOB FILLED - Account Manager

Job Description: 

Produce GPO offers an alternative purchasing solution for the foodservice and retail industry that brings integrity and value options not currently offered in today’s market.  With combined volumes of current Produce GPO members, we provide competitive contracts as well as consistent availability throughout the year. 

Compensation/Salary:

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Negotiating pricing/contracts with growers to support Produce GPO business needs
  • Sales of grower programs and transactional business to Produce GPO network
  • Manage and develop customer relationships for all products that Produce GPO sells
  • Work closely with other account managers to support Produce GPO initiatives
  • Liaison between Produce GPO Management, growers, and customers
  • Perform administrative duties to ensure accurate documentation
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant industry experience
  • Minimum 3 years fresh produce experience
  • Experience and knowledge of the Foodservice side of the industry
  • Knowledge of fresh produce specifications
  • Knowledge of PACA (Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act)
  • Driven, enthusiastic and highly motivated
  • Ability to work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Excellent systems knowledge: MS Office and internet
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer/supplier service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid financial acumen
  • Some travel required
