The Vice President of Retail Business Development is a team player that creates relationship depth between our business and major retailers and uncovers opportunities throughout the retailer’s business – from fresh departments to center store, private brand, and prepared foods. Requirements: 
  • 10 years applicable work experience or amazing experience that demonstrates your ability to deliver sales results, manage budgets, lead teams, and cultivate strategic relationships in a retail environment
  • Strong analytical skills & financial acumen; Experience & comfort level with quantitative business analyses.
  • Creativity, energy, a positive team-focused attitude, and a passion for creating value
  • Adaptability to embrace, encourage and foster change

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent relationship management skills

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Profitably grow retail sales and market share via expanding distribution, increasing penetration at accounts across product lines, and elevating the conversation to build deeper, more strategic relationships at key corporate accounts
  • Develop a best-in-class team culture centered around creating customer intimacy and influence results by providing excellent direction and support to your team through personal involvement in design, creation and implementation of programs, policies, strategic business plans and developing sustainable relationships with customers
  • Lead decision-making and execution of staffing, training, development and management of your channel development sales team to meet market share and profit objectives within budgeted selling expenses
  • Direct overall performance of your team to achieve business, financial and departmental objectives as defined by company leadership. Manage resources against budgeted sales and operating profit expectations
  • Consult and collaborate with company executives, customers, internal teams and various levels of staff to coordinate company/departmental projects, including the creative process of new items, packaging and merchandising in the never-ending process of reinventing ourselves
  • Integrate and enforce use of company systems, protocols, and CRM tools as part of Team Management
  • Oversee & optimize use of broker network
Education: 
  • BA or BS Degree in Business required or MS in Business or relevant field preferred
Ideal Candidate: 
  • Experience with CRM programs
  • Experience with IRI/Nielsen Data
Location:
  • This position is based near Westlake Village, CA
  • Anticipate travel 70%, majority within the Western US
