JOB FILLED - Sales Assistant Intern

Job Description: 

JBJ Distributing was founded in 1980 for the purpose of servicing the needs of major supermarkets and food service institutions in the U.S. JBJ handles a full line of specialty produce and food service items. In 1988, JBJ added a full line of “organic” produce to its product line and currently is a leader in the “organic” produce arena. In 2007, JBJ partnered with a local grower in Orange County, and is currently handling sales for 200 acres of Locally Grown Organic Produce. JBJ ships a full line of certified organic produce under the “Organic Veg-Land” label.

We are currently accepting resumes for a SALES ASSISTANT INTERN to join our team in Fullerton, CA. This is a temporary paid internship that has the potential to grow into a full-time sales position with the company. 

The successful candidate will be an organized, detailed and driven individual. As a Sales Assistant Intern, you will be working in the Sales office aiding the Sales Manager and other Salesmen and working directly with production.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Enter orders into Sales program, import orders from Retail buying platform
  • Print BOL’s, make pallet tags check for changes in orders from buying platform
  • Price orders to match buying platform prices
  • Make sure orders have temp recorders when needed
  • Allocate and add notes to orders for next day
  • Constant dialogue with production on orders
  • Answer sales phones when necessary
  • Alert sales team when product will be short of required amount
  • Make delivery appointments for local Retail deliveries
  • Print pick list for packing room to direct sorting or quality check
  • Attach labor sheets from packing to orders on following day
Qualifications: 
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a priority
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and keep to a schedule
  • Bachelor’s Degree or progressing toward degree in Business Marketing or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF
  • Ability work in a Bullpen environment and not get distracted by others   
  • Be prepared and ready for work each day
  • Ability to work as a team and individually to accomplish time sensitive tasks
  • Attentiveness to detail, the ability to understand the proper specifications of a product
  • Critical thinking skills, self-motivation required
  • Judgment and decision-making skills required
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and remain on-task required
