Responsibilities

Logistics & Supply Chain Management

General Description:
The Broker sources and sells produce to retailers, processors, and other fresh produce buyers. The Broker negotiates product prices and product placements to maximize their clients' sales, collaborates with retailers and manufacturers to build a professional network, and monitors market conditions, competitors, and how to best promote food products to potential customers.

The Sales Representative will be responsible for marketing Class Produce Group products to new customers obtained by the sales person and existing customers assigned by management. As a member of our Buying team, this position is responsible for identifying and procuring conventional and organic products for our Retail, Wholesale, and Food Service customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Communicate and direct sales team on produce categories.

- Continually identify and determine optimum source of supply to ensure best cost and highest quality products and service.

This position will work exclusively with one Association Services Group client, the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association (GFVGA), supporting its Produce Food Safety Services (PFSS) Program. Produce Food Safety Services (PFSS) is a program that provides nationwide consultation, tailored food safety program development, training, education, and regulatory guidance for growers, packers, shippers, and processors specifically in the produce industry.
This Specialist will combine the growth of the Produce Food Safety Services (PFSS) program by combining expert food safety consulting with proactive customer relations and business development. This role will maintain a portfolio of consulting clients while also generating new leads, strengthening client relationships, and help expand PFSS visibility and impact within the domestic fruit and vegetable industry.

EDUCATION AND SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential Functions:
- Procure new business and grow existing accounts across national and regional retail chains, club, wholesale, and foodservice; enter sales orders into the system daily and generate sales invoices.

About our role

What you will accomplish
- Assist with the implementation of food safety plans and systems to ensure products are food safe.
- Lead quality technicians, conducting label reviews/checks and directing cleaning/sanitation teams.

Your contribution:
- Perform all activities as directed by Station Manager for quality crop maintenance of specific seed crops assigned to the site. To include proper ground selection, isolation, soil testing, soil preparation, spraying, planting, rouging and harvesting.
- Assist Station Manager with yearly budgeting and 5-year planning for the location, as well as recommend capital investments required.
- Assist Station Manager as directed with all aspects of facility maintenance including building, farm equipment, and farm irrigation ditches, drains, and roads.
- Ensure that all operational farming activities are performed in a timely adequate manner to include those assigned to seasonal crews.
- Maintain farm operations records of each plot on agreed upon forms/spreadsheets or within systems and provide detailed information to Breeding Departments, Crop Specialists, Product Development Specialists, and Trial Coordinators according to the schedule for crop reporting.
- Provide crop performance updates as required to the Breeding Department and Station Manager.
- Evaluate, develop new farm equipment practices that increase the efficiency of operation.
- Gather initiatives and contribute to drafting proposals for process optimization. Determine priorities in consultation with the Station Manager and co-ordinate implementation
- Be responsible for a clean and organized working environment (shop floor) that complies with internal guidelines as well as laws and regulations, and thus contribute to the safety of both employees and the cultivation process
- Be responsible for the quality standards to be met in the execution of the crop maintenance activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Station Manager.
In addition, the ideal candidate would possess the following qualities and credentials:
- College degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related Agriculture field is preferred, and/or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Agriculture Farming.
