Because of the strength of our sales team and pipeline of business, the initial focus of the Search Consultant is leading searches and direct recruiting. This person must be very effective in identifying, engaging and attracting passive candidates who meet our high standards while providing impeccable and responsive service to our client companies. The Role: This position has two parts: The client-side and candidate-side. Both roles may be handled by one person, or they can be handled separately by two people. Ideally, we are seeking someone who will excel in both areas.
 
Client-side (Search Lead):
Service existing and new clients, providing an experience that is both timely and exceptional in terms of service, communication and thoroughness. The Search Lead is responsible for the overall relationship between the client and the Joe Produce Team. The Search Lead is the client’s liaison and advocate throughout the search process and also in the latter stages during the interview, offer and hiring stages.
 
Candidate-side (Talent Sourcing):
Source, engage, manage and develop relationships with produce professionals and candidates. This role is the “hunter” and requires tenacity, resourcefulness, organization, creativity and confidence. The Talent Sourcer needs to identify and connect with qualified candidates, developing mutually beneficial and long-lasting relationships that focus on the attitude, aptitude, ability and desire of the individual in order to help them get to the next step in their career. This includes engaging, screening, interviewing, qualifying and referencing. The Talent Sourcer uses the Applicant Tracking System to document all activity and findings in a clear and concise manner.
 
The Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate has experience in these three areas: Produce, Business and Recruiting. With that said, we anticipate hiring someone who has experience in two of the areas, such as these combinations:

  • Recruiting and Business
  • Produce and Business
This is not a sales or buyer job. However, the ability to communicate, empathize, think strategically, manage your desk and your client’s business are all desirable “sales-like or buyer-like” attributes.

Qualifications: 
  • At least 3 years of successful experience in executive search and/or direct hire recruiting is preferred. 
  • Successful customer driven experience in the produce industry will also be considered.
  • Must possess the ability to engage and influence professionals at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to counsel individuals and hiring managers with unwavering ethics and integrity
  • The ability and desire to operate with discretion and confidentiality at all times is a must
  • Willingness to admit mistakes and openness to receive constructive feedback in order to further develop professional skills and improve our services
  • Expert in sourcing and engaging candidates directly over the phone and in person.
  • Excellent verbal communication and phone skills- cannot be afraid to make (warm and cold) calls every day and well as communicate effectively over the phone, on video and in person
  • Excellent written communication - able to create presentations, write job descriptions and marketing pieces and communicate professionally over email.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented - a great memory comes in handy here!
  • Technically savvy with Microsoft Office, Google and databases
  • A team player who works well with others
  • Experience or knowledge in fresh produce or agriculture industry a plus!
