COMPANY OVERVIEW
Mahi Pono is a Maui farming company in the process of transforming 41,000 acres of vacant former sugar cane land into a thriving hub of diversified agriculture. We are committed to practicing sustainable agriculture, to growing food for local consumption, to the responsible use of the natural resources entrusted to us, and to providing high quality agricultural employment for generations to come.

Our initial focus is on the production of citrus, with an emphasis on growing, packing and shipping lines to retail, food service, processing, and wholesale produce operations across the US and abroad. We are looking for a dedicated leader to join our team as Vice President of Sales. The responsibilities of the VP of Sales include developing our business across North America, meeting with major clients, designing effective sales strategies and related reports, overseeing the daily sales activities and marketing company products and services.

We are focused on finding someone with extremely strong leadership skills with an in-depth knowledge of the market and competitive products, excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills, and the ability to drive company success from the ground up.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Identifying business opportunities across North America and developing those relationships into viable partners
  • Monitoring the market, competitor products and activities, and providing detailed sales forecasting
  • Outlining and managing sales budgets including the establishment of quarterly and annual sales goals 
  • Creating sales reports and providing feedback to the leadership team at company meetings
  • Reviewing customer activity, anticipating consumer needs, and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Developing sales plans and strategies, in line with production capacity, to achieve sales goals
  • Recruiting and hiring sales staff and developing training programs
  • Managing sales teams, maintaining sales operations, and motivating the sales teams to achieve their goals
  • Working with the marketing department to design print and online promotional materials for the company's products and services

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
  • Master's degree in a business-related field may be advantageous
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a sales leadership position
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in a selling role and with sales technology and software
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a senior (C-level) leadership role may be advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of selling strategies and methods, as well as employee motivation techniques
  • Strong working knowledge of the company's products, competitive products, and the market
