Job Description: 

The Role: The Northeast and Midwest Sales Representative will be responsible for driving success with the PlantTape Automated Transplanting System across both current accounts and new business opportunities. This role requires strong agricultural knowledge, a self-starter mindset, and a "boots on the ground" approach to building and maintaining long-term relationships with growers. A successful candidate will be self-motivated, disciplined, and eager to learn.

Location(s): Fully Remote

Areas of Responsibility

  • Frequently attend customer plantings to ensure quality execution and successful operation of the PlantTape system.
  • Work closely with nursery partners to increase volume and ensure product quality.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the U.S. produce industry, the transplanting process, and general vegetable growth cycles to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Eastern Manager to develop and maintain a territory sales plan with clear goals and deliverables.
  • Track and communicate customer activities with the Eastern Manager and PlantTape leadership.
  • Partner with the equipment department to ensure outstanding customer service by reporting and helping resolve equipment-related issues.
  • Manage equipment setup and operator training for new clients and during field demonstrations.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues with current accounts or during demos using in-depth knowledge of the PlantTape system.
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings.
  • Help coordinate trials and equipment demonstrations in collaboration with the Eastern Manager.
  • Represent PlantTape at sales events such as trade shows.
  • Coordinate regional trials and demos, ensuring impactful field events alongside the Eastern Manager.
  • Represent PlantTape at industry events and trade shows to build brand presence and network with forward-thinking growers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in ag-business or a related field (preferred)
  • 1-3 years of experience in agricultural sales (e.g., seed, equipment, ag tech, irrigation, fertilizer)
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Fluent in English; Spanish language skills a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel internationally (passport required)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Willingness to work after hours and weekends as needed
  • Comfortable working in both outdoor and indoor environments, including around moving parts and equipment

Salary: $75,000-85,000 per year
