Job Description:

Rogers Mesa Fruit is a 45-year-old organic fruit packing and sales company located on Colorado’s Western Slope. We primarily pack organic peaches, pears, apples, and specialty fruits, with a strong market presence along the Front Range and in the Denver metro area. We work closely with growers and buyers to deliver high-quality product with integrity and consistency.

We are seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven Sales Manager to manage customer accounts, coordinate fruit movement, develop new contacts and continue our growth. This is a key role that connects customers, the packing shed, and shipping operations during a fast-paced harvest season.

Position Overview
The Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day sales operations, managing customer orders, maintaining strong buyer relationships, and ensuring smooth communication between sales, packing, and shipping. This role plays a direct part in maximizing product movement, maintaining quality standards, and supporting efficient shed operations throughout the season. It requires someone skilled at building trust with growers, buyers, and internal stakeholders, and adaptable enough to pivot quickly based on market shifts or operational needs.

This position is also expected to grow in scope over time, with the opportunity to take on additional operational and leadership responsibilities as part of a planned, gradual transition within the company.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Order Management

  • Manage customer orders via phone, email, text, and online ordering systems
  • Communicate product availability, pricing, grades, and packaging options
  • Confirm order details including quantities, specifications, delivery, or pickup times
  • Enter and track orders accurately in computerized sales and inventory systems
  • Prepare and send sales confirmations, invoices, and related documentation

Coordination & Operations

  • Work closely with packing shed staff to align orders with inventory and packing schedules
  • Anticipate and respond to changes in availability or market conditions
  • Resolve order issues, shortages, or quality concerns quickly and professionally

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing wholesale buyers
  • Follow up on orders to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Identify opportunities for repeat sales and actively develop new customer relationships
  • Represent Rogers Mesa Fruit professionally with customers and industry partners

Reporting & Communication

  • Maintain accurate customer contact lists and sales records
  • Provide management with sales updates, market feedback, and customer insights
  • Maintain confidentiality of pricing, customer information, and business operations
  • Adapt to and utilize evolving customer ordering platforms and internal sales systems
  • Stay current with buyer requirements related to technology, documentation, and product traceability

Role Growth & Future Opportunity
Rogers Mesa Fruit is planning for a thoughtful leadership transition over the coming years. As trust, experience, and familiarity with our operations grow, this role is expected to gradually take on broader responsibilities that may include coordination with growers, seasonal planning, and increased involvement in day-to-day business operations.

This growth will be intentional and supported, allowing the Sales Manager to expand into a more general management role over time while maintaining a strong focus on sales and customer relationships.

What Success Looks Like

  • Smooth, consistent movement of fruit throughout the season
  • Strong customer retention and repeat orders
  • Meaningful new sales accounts generated
  • Accurate order fulfillment with minimal issues
