As a large-scale shipper and broker, we are looking to bring on an ambitious key member to our Augusta, GA sales team as a Produce Sales Trainee. This individual will help broaden our scope of items offered, as well as increase our customer and grower base.  They must possess a strong desire to learn the produce industry, from source to plate, and how to develop and manage sales accounts at all levels of our client base (Wholesaler, Foodservice, Retail).  Additional job duties include finding new accounts, managing buying and handling all sales, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
 
The successful candidate must have excellent people skills, a strong work ethic and a motivation to contribute to a growing business They must be detail-oriented and able to analyze changing market factors.  We offer a flexible and competitive compensation structure.

Requirements: 
  • Strong verbal and electronic (email, text, IM) communication skills
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software, and general adeptness with computers
  • Ability to maintain organization in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to handle conflict and stress in a professional manner
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred

 

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Responsible for sales, planning, allocation, projections, inventory, purchasing and selling
  • Responsible for marketing product and maintaining and developing relationships with existing and new customers in an effort to market the Company's product(s)
  • Achieve budgeted sales volume objectives, market penetration and average sales price by product, and ultimately contribute to company profitability
  • Provide input as to relevant market information, strategies, visions and goals
  • Grow distribution and placement in both new and existing accounts
  • Develop and communicate strategies to grow market share and customer base
  • Work collaboratively to ensure optimal customer service and support
