Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Identify and meticulously research leads, guiding them through the sales cycle, with a laser focus on retail opportunities.
  • Execute organized and impactful prospecting, leading to the successful development, onboarding, and growth of new customers within the U.S.
  • Apply discernment to identify and qualify prospective customers based on sales management parameters.
  • Take charge of the entire spectrum of customer interaction, from sales and service to retention and growth.
  • Manage customer price and volume quotes, ensuring strict adherence to outlined parameters.
  • Conduct precise customer demand forecasting, looking ahead with a rolling 5-week advance forecast.
  • Regularly review forecast reports to optimize performance.
  • Exercise control over customer credit limits and accounts payables.
  • Collaborate with credit and collections specialists, supporting the VP of sales and business development in handling credit-related matters.
  • Keep a vigilant eye on aging product inventory, working closely with planning and sales teams to sell aging and distressed products.
  • Demonstrate a data-driven approach in decision-making to achieve company, sales team, and individual salesperson objectives.
  • Devise effective strategies for new customer development, retention, and growth.
  • Strive consistently towards achieving annual bonus and development goal objectives.
  • Actively contribute and participate in sales team meetings.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with the marketing team and sales analyst for customer presentations, business reviews, and joint-marketing promotions.
  • Be prepared for essential business travel, attending customer meetings, industry trade shows, and events.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field preferred
  • Proven track record of growth within your current customer base, showcasing success in new customer development and retention.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fresh produce sales, with a current retailer customer base.
  • In-depth experience and understanding of the U.S. retail sector.
  • A strong desire to win and consistently surpass competition with highly developed negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, ensuring consistent engagement with customers.
