Job Description: 

As the Food Safety Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead the Food Safety team, providing daily direction and guidance.
  • Stay informed about State/Federal requirements (FDA, USDA, CDHS, NOP, etc.) and implement pest control measures. Ensure completion and filing of all mandatory reports and documentation.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in Ranch audits.
  • Audit various elements of the Food Safety program for effectiveness, identifying issues, and developing corrective action plans.
  • Conduct and document all Food Safety related trainings on an ongoing basis.
  • Schedule and execute all food safety tests and inspections.
  • Supervise Pre-Harvest inspections.
  • Investigate all instances of Food Safety reports; recommend and/or coordinate corrective measures.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and
  • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in food safety, with comprehensive knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, GAP, GMP, USDA, FDA, GFSI, and Primus standards.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as required.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Dedication to excellence and high standards.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Capacity to manage priorities and workflow effectively.
  • Adaptability and willingness to navigate evolving priorities.
  • Sound judgment with the ability to make timely decisions.
  • Familiarity with all facets of agricultural procedures and positions.
  • Possession of a valid CA Class C driver’s license and insurability.
  • Availability to visit job sites located in California/Arizona during winter months.
