EDIBLE HARVEST FARMS in Produce is a global importer of fresh, organic produce, supplying wholesalers and retailers around the U.S. and Canada. We offer a direct connection from grower to consumer, ensuring our fruits and vegetables are of the highest quality and have that just-picked flavor.

Established in 2016, EDIBLE HARVEST FARMS was founded by a specialist fresh produce team. Prior to launching EDIBLE HARVEST FARMS, Elvis Obregon spent more than a decade sourcing products for wholesalers and retailers while also developing direct grower connections in numerous countries.

We started EDIBLE HARVEST FARMS out of a passion to bring consumers the taste of the freshest organic fruits and vegetables “But our business is not just focused on the end user. Our mission also includes the development of our producer partners, supporting their well-being and the best practices of organic agriculture. We work closely with them to plan, grow, harvest and ship produce to deliver unmatched quality and freshness.

We are rapidly expanding and are looking for an Operations and Procurement Supervisor to be part of our rapid growth and great projects that we have coming this year.

Description:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to a multidisciplinary team encompassing production, warehouse, order picking, shipping, receiving, delivery logistics, quality control, and sanitation.
  • Develop and implement efficient processes for receiving, sorting, repacking, and processing various fresh produce items.
  • Collaborate closely with the quality assurance team to establish and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and food safety protocols, ensuring strict adherence.
  • Devise and oversee preventative maintenance programs to optimize equipment uptime and minimize downtime.
  • Manage inventory control systems to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
  • Develop and execute production schedules aligned with customer demand, while maximizing efficiency.
  • Analyze production metrics and performance data to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains.
  • Conduct regular audits to pinpoint areas for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including food safety regulations, and environmental regulations.
  • Establish and maintain safety protocols to uphold a secure working environment for all employees.
  • Develop and deliver employee training programs.
  • Manage the operations budget to ensure cost-effective resource utilization.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved profitability while upholding quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments, such as sales, and marketing, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment across the organization and supply chain.
  • Support new product launches and business initiatives as Required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in operations management, with a focus on produce repacking and food Safety.
  • Proven track record of leadership and success in optimizing production processes, enhancing efficiency, and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong grasp of quality control principles, food safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of leveraging data to drive informed decision-making and implement impactful solutions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in budget management, cost control, and achieving financial objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at fostering effective relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team to achieve common goals.
  • Bilingual strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with ERP systems or production management software is desirable.
  • Upbeat and goal driven.
