Job Description: 

Seeking an Experienced Tropical Category Sales Representative for WYCO Produce in Tampa, FL.

WYCO Produce, a premier distributor of tropical fruits and dry vegetables, established in 2010, seeks a skilled Tropical Category Sales Representative to join their team in Tampa, FL. With over 30 years of combined sales and marketing experience, WYCO Produce provides year-round access to high-quality produce from global partners.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have an established book of business and the ability to cultivate and manage relationships with retailers, food-service distributors, and wholesalers. 

Some of the main responsibilities include:

  • Expanding tropical product offerings and growing the grower base.
  • Staying informed with market trends, inventories, and supply and demand to optimize pricing and secure deals.
  • Juggling inventories, forecasting availability, and navigating transportation.
  • Utilizing internal systems for order management, performance tracking, and customer communication.
  • Achieving budgeted sales volume objectives.
  • Researching and maintaining daily awareness of national market trends and utilizing data to leverage sales and secure opportunities.
  • Maintaining inventories and supplying the sales team with product availability daily.
  • Projecting daily and weekly availability based on grower projections.
  • Having working knowledge of national and international transportation and logistics.
  • Working on internal computer systems to book and manage sales orders, track sales reports, maintain customer lists, and be knowledgeable about product inventory.


  • 5+ years of produce experience, preferably in the tropical category.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, 2-year Associate degree will be considered.   Established retail, food-service, wholesale, and broker contacts.
  • Clear understanding of the fresh produce supply chain.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • National and international travel ability.
  • Must speak, read, and write Spanish fluently.  Able to work with changing market factors.
