We are currently seeking a Key Account Director to join our team in a Remote capacity, with some travel included.

This role is centered around scaling our clients' businesses by opening new sales channels, optimizing internal processes, and achieving growth goals in collaboration with senior leadership.

The role demands a self-starting, motivated, and relentless individual determined to exceed expectations. Key Account Directors play a vital role in strategic planning, goal setting, and program execution with a primary focus on developing a collaborative and growth-oriented sales culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Account Management and Business Development

  • Build customer relationships, including preferences, buying patterns and communication.

  • Conduct business reviews with key accounts to identify and assess growth opportunities.

  • Anticipate customer needs and communicate them effectively to all relevant departments within the company.

  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure alignment of products and services with customer requirements.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop strategic plans for business growth and customer satisfaction.

  • Participate in trade shows, presentations, and new business development initiatives.

Pricing Management & Market Updates
  • Prepare and manage pricing strategy, ensuring competitive pricing and profitability.

  • Deliver high-level customer service to drive new business and maintain customer loyalty.

  • Provide market updates to customers to demonstrate thought leadership to add value.

  • Represent the client at industry events, maintaining a professional company image.

Inventory Management and Quality Assurance
  • Work with facilities to manage inventory and ensure timely product delivery.

  • Monitor product rotation to prevent quality issues and minimize waste.

  • Demonstrate strong follow-up and documentation for quality issues to mitigate potential losses.

Financial Administration and Customer Service
  • Assist accounts receivable and accounts payable departments with the collection of payments from customers and timely payments to vendors.

  • Track customer orders and grower purchases to ensure accuracy and timely processing.

  • Provide timely solutions to customers' needs and maintain strong market knowledge to capture opportunities.

Company Strategic Planning
  • Contribute to Farm to Market’s broader strategic planning process, prospecting new customer and client partnerships

  • Participate in client strategic planning discussions for all Farm to Market clients

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Track record of success in produce sales, procurement, and business development

  • Strong network of buyers, grower/shippers and industry contacts

  • Experience with retail and/or foodservice accounts

  • Experience developing year‑round supply programs

  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and relationship‑building skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment

Skills:
  • Produce sales/business development/buying expertise

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent computer skills

  • Excellent communicator and self-starter

  • Great problem solver with ability to bring solutions

  • Excellent relationship management and new customer prospecting skills

  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external team members

  • Must be able to work well in an ever-changing environment

  • Ability and passion for growth

We are specifically seeking candidates with proven experience in one or more of the following commodity groups:
  • Cabbage, Watermelons, Summer/Specialty Melons, Summer/Hard Squash, Pumpkins, Broccoli

  • Blueberries, Strawberries, Raspberries, Blackberries

  • Peppers, Tomatoes

  • Import Tropicals, Beans, Melons

  • Potatoes, Onions, Carrots

Salary: Negotiated + Bonus/Commission
