Account Manager - Frozen Fruit & Juice Sales

Job Description: 

Peterson Farms, Inc., a fruit processing company located in Shelby, just south of Ludington, is looking for an Account Manager for our frozen fruit and juice sales. This person should be a self-motivated sales professional, who has a proven track record of closing sales. While experience in the food industry is desired, we are willing to train the right candidate.

Overview:
Responsible for developing new business, both within existing customer relationships as well as with new accounts; partnering with and ensuring the long-term success of our customer relationships, maintaining and developing long-term relationships with a portfolio of assigned customers and is a critical component to work with cross-functional internal teams including but not limited to Customer Service, Inventory and Quality to ensure the timely and successful delivery of service to our customers.

Responsibilities & Results:

  • Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all customer matters
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key customer stakeholders
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our services according to customer needs and objectives
  • Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Forecast and track key account metrics
  • Identify and grow opportunities within assigned accounts and collaborate with sales teams to ensure growth attainment
  • Identify and act on opportunities to grow new customer relationships
  • Collection of aged receivables from assigned customer base when applicable
  • Analysis and communicate to  management updates on fruit commodity markets  based upon communication with customers and industry members
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

Education / Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or
  • Five (5) or more years related experience, preferably in the food industry

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Other Qualifications:

  • Travel less than 10%.
