JOB SUMMARY:

The Produce Multi-Unit Accounts (National Accounts) Manager is responsible for managing and growing customer relationships at regional and national accounts within the fresh produce sector. This role drives revenue growth by servicing existing accounts, developing new business opportunities with our members, and ensuring high-quality product delivery aligned with customer expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and grow assigned customer accounts.
  • Develop and execute account-specific sales plans and forecasts.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and key decision-makers.
  • Coordinate pricing, promotions, and seasonal supply programs.
  • Monitor market conditions and provide recommendations.
  • Collaborate with procurement, operations, and logistics teams.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand account penetration.
  • Track sales performance, margins, and customer profitability.
  • Ensure accurate order management and account administration.
  • Support receivables management in coordination with finance.
  • Exercise independent judgment in managing customer strategy and pricing.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years of experience in produce sales, buying, or account management.
  • Strong knowledge of fresh produce markets and supply chain.
  • Experience working with retail or foodservice customers.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and business systems.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, supply chain, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in produce sales, buying, or account management.

WORK LOCATION:

This position is based at Markon’s headquarters in Salinas, California. Travel (approximately 10–25%) to customer locations, member meetings, industry events, and trade shows will be required. Not a remote position.

COMPENSATION:

$71,000 - $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
