Sales Coordinator

ROLE SUMMARY

Vision Produce is growing and is adding a Sales Coordinator to strengthen the sales team. The role supports sales coordination across the desk and helps run buy and sell programs, keeping every order accurate and on time from purchase to delivery. It is the daily link between buyers, salespeople, customers, carriers and the warehouse.

This is an entry point into produce sales and buying. A strong performer will learn the vegetable and fruit categories, take on purchasing tasks, and can grow into a Buyer or Salesperson role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Order entry and accuracy

·      Enter all purchase and sales data in Produce Pro accurately and the same day.

·      Balance the yellow sheet to orders daily and resolve differences before close.

·      Run daily reports as instructed and as needed through the business day.

Customer order management

·      Confirm, track in transit, and reconcile all orders on iTrade for assigned customer accounts.

·      Secure all delivery appointments on One Network.

·      Send passings and confirmations of order (COOs) to customers who request them.

·      Check all FOB (customer pick up) orders before the end of each day and report status to the Sales VP and sales assistant.

Team communication

·      Recap daily purchases and arrivals to the sales team each morning, on time.

·      Answer incoming calls for the Vision team and route them to the right person.

·      Coordinate with the warehouse, logistics and back office on order changes, shortages and quality issues.

Buy and sell programs

·      Support buy and sell programs: match supplier purchases to customer orders and track volumes, pricing and margins.

·      Track supplier availability, pricing and arrivals, and follow up on purchase orders.

·      Coordinate program changes between buyers, salespeople and suppliers.

·      Learn the vegetable and fruit categories: product specifications, quality standards, seasonality and market conditions.

Other

·      Perform other sales support and related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

·      2+ years in produce or perishable food sales support, order entry or purchasing.

·      Strong accuracy with numbers and data entry; comfortable with Excel and Outlook.

·      Clear, professional communication by phone and email.

·      Ability to handle shifting priorities calmly in a fast-paced environment.

·      Team player who raises problems early and handles disagreements constructively.

Preferred

·      Bachelor's degree in agribusiness, business, supply chain or a related field.

·      Experience with Produce Pro, iTrade and One Network.

·      Bilingual English and Spanish.

·      Knowledge of vegetable and fruit commodities, grades and seasonality.

·      Interest in a career path toward buying or sales.

CAREER PATH

1.      First 90 days: master order entry, iTrade, One Network and daily recaps with zero missed appointments.

2.      Months 4 to 12: take on buying support tasks and a small set of customer accounts with guidance.

3.      After 12 months: eligible for promotion to Junior Buyer or Salesperson, based on performance review.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND COMPENSATION

·      Office based, with regular time in the warehouse and cold storage areas.

·      Early start times; weekend coverage as needed during peak seasons.

·      Base pay range: $70,000 to $80,000 per year, subject to the candidate's experience and abilities, plus eligibility for a performance bonus.
