Sales Assistant

Always Fresh Farms | Plant City, Florida

Always Fresh Farms is a premier grower, marketer, and shipper of fresh berries and produce, headquartered in Plant City, Florida. Through strong grower partnerships and a global sourcing network, the company delivers high-quality fresh fruit to retail, wholesale, and foodservice customers throughout North America.

Our product portfolio is primarily focused on berries — including strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries — which represent the core of our year-round programs. By working closely with growers across the United States and the Americas, Always Fresh Farms provides consistent supply, premium quality, and reliable service to our customers.

Our mission is to deliver exceptional fresh berries and produce through trusted grower relationships, strong category management, and superior customer service.

Position Overview

Always Fresh Farms is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sales Assistant to provide customer service and operational support to the Sales Department. This role plays a critical part in supporting sales representatives, coordinating customer orders, and ensuring smooth day-to-day execution of our fresh berry and produce programs.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and experience working in a fast-paced environment within the fresh produce industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily administrative and operational support to the sales team.
  • Serve as a point of contact for assigned customers, assisting with order updates, product information, and general inquiries.
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform data entry, order tracking, and shipment tracing to ensure timely delivery of fresh berries and produce shipments.
  • Facilitate communication between the sales department, customers, vendors, and logistics providers.
  • Maintain and update customer account information within internal systems.
  • Collaborate with sales representatives to provide pricing and product availability based on customer specifications and market conditions.
  • Schedule produce pick-up and delivery appointments with growers, packing facilities, transportation companies, and customers.
  • Assist with coordinating the movement of fresh berry shipments including strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries.
  • Investigate customer inquiries, shipment discrepancies, or service concerns and resolve or escalate issues as needed.
  • Maintain communication with the Accounting department and assist with account reconciliation when necessary.
  • Support the development of sales reporting, KPI tracking, and performance metrics for internal analysis and customer reporting.
  • Assist with preparation for customer presentations, site visits, and produce industry trade shows.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of work-related experience in sales or sales support.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Communications, Marketing or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in fresh produce sales or account management preferred.
  • Knowledge of berry markets (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries) strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of produce supply chains, pricing strategies, and logistics.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced produce sales environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
